Montréal is becoming a real international hotbed of creativity, with progressive ideas in many fields. We have fantastic food, cheap rent, crazy nightlife, lots of underground cultural happenings—and Montrealers are a pretty sexy bunch, if we do say so ourselves. Oh yeah, and winter here is great, if you’re a masochist or a snowboarder, that is.
As Amsterdam goes, the previous paragraph applies if you replace the word “cheap rent” by “shockingly high rent” and “snowboarder” by “lifelong Londoner”.

COME FROM
Entrepreneurial, Independent, Allergic to the status quo.
Our company began very modestly in 1993: a bunch of students got together to launch an agency because they couldn’t even get an interview at traditional agencies. With no portfolio, no experience, no clients and no money (except for a $6,000 loan each), we set out to learn the craft. We worked hard, made a few mistakes, but were lucky enough to have clients who supported us in our quest to explore new ways of doing things.
Every time the going was good, we elected to transform the company to embrace change and avoid the false comfort of the status quo. Sid Lee has therefore repeatedly morphed
itself—sometimes taking bold risks—to better adapt to changing consumers, technologies and markets. We were one of the trailblazers in interactive marketing (it almost killed us during the .com collapse) and we continue to explore new ideas by venturing into such nascent realms such as experiential marketing, industrial design and product development for brands.
We cherish our modest roots because they taught us to really appreciate how lucky we are to be together, to work with prestigious clients and to have fun in the process… and to never sit on our laurels.

Alper heads large-scale strategic planning engagements. He wields a rigorous approach that merges strategy consulting & communications planning practices. Over his tenure at Sid Lee, he has proven his approach with a global portfolio of clients spanning an array of categories.

A multimedia pioneer in Canada, Martin Gauthier boasts over 15 years experience in the field. As a member of the Sid Lee team since 1999, Martin’s progressive views on media and relationship marketing have greatly influenced the agency.

Alexandre Pasini is one of Sid Lee’s youngest partners and a manager at our Amsterdam office. Since joining the agency in 2003, Alex has held several positions, including strategic planner and strategy director.

With Sid Lee since 2003, Julie Provençal was named Vice-President, Account Services, Operations in 2011. She shares her expertise that she acquired over the years with major clients such as Cirque du Soleil with the Montreal Account Services group.

A certified management accountant (CMA), Gérard Tardif has more than 25 years of cross-functional senior management experience. A natural leader with a talent for getting the best out of his team, Gérard joined Sid Lee in 2011.

A new arrival to Sid Lee, Sylvain comes to us with years of marketing experience acquired in France. Having worked for Publicis, BBDP and DDB, he has served as creative director of Sid Lee Paris since spring 2009.

Eva Van den Bulcke has been part of the Sid Lee team for 10 years now. Co-creative director and partner, Eva has worked for a host of renowned clients. She was featured in Marketing Magazine’s “Top 30 Under 30”.
NIELS VAN DE WALLE
Managing Partner, Amsterdam
Having spent many years working as an interactive communication specialist in Europe for Nike, Niels joined the ranks of Sid Lee in 2008 for the launch of our Amsterdam office. There, he takes on the role of managing partner and senior adviser for our clients.
